At the young age of 17 Royal made the first ever free ascent of Tahiquitz Open Book in California. The first 5.9 climbed in America. Royal Robbins has made history books by being the first man to make his ascents on some of the world's most famous climbing routes, many is his favourite ‘playground' Yosemite. In more recent years Royal has turned to kayaking to fulfil his everlasting taste of adventure and has been equally accomplished in this field, being part of the first group to successfully navigate their way down some of the wild waters of Sierra Nevada.

Inspired by his adventures and lack of equipment and apparel fit for purpose during his climbing days in the 1960's, he, along with his wife Liz decided to create a clothing brand that would suit his and any ‘would be' adventurer's lifestyle.
